Insight/Advice Posts – Share a short tip, framework, or lesson from your field.

Format: 2-4 short paragraphs, maybe a 1-2 line hook at the start. Well conceived posts convey the impression you are a subject matter expert.

Storytelling Posts – Personal experience, challenge, or “behind the scenes” story.

People love human stories that connect work and life :)

Data/Trends Posts – Summarize a stat, report, or trend in plain English with your commentary: "I'm not surprised that _____ sales are soaring based on ____."

Engagement Posts – Simple, direct prompts that invite discussion.

Example: “What’s one leadership habit you wish you’ had learned earlier in your career?”

Hook & Structure First 1-2 lines = Hook. Most people only see that before clicking “See More”. LinkedIn is skimmed like Twitter so use short sentences and line breaks.

Examples:

  • “Here’s a mistake I made that cost me a big sale”.

  • “Most people are doing [X] wrong - here’s a better way”.

Engagement Boosters

Reply to every comment on your posts - it doubles impressions by signaling to the algorithm.

  • Tag relevant people sparingly (1–2 max).

  • Add a clear call-to-action: ask a question, invite experiences, or encourage opinions.

Growth Tactics - Comment daily, your posts get a visibility bump if you’re active across the platform.

  • Occasionally re-share others’ posts but add your own spin.

  • Repurpose: A long post → break into 3 short posts → turn it into a poll or question.

Long Game - LinkedIn rewards consistent value over time. Most people stop after a month if they don’t see immediate growth, but if you stay consistent for 90+ days, you’ll see impressions compound.
