Why Do I Need a Career Coach?

Most people know what they don't want in a job but not what they do want.
Most people know what they don't want in a job but not what they do want.

I get this question often, and my answer is "you might not". It depends on what your objective is. Landing “a” job these days is fairly straightforward. Many job seekers tell me “I have a resume”, and that’s great, but does it just list your work history, or does it adequately position you for “the” job you most want and succinctly communicate your unique value proposition? If it doesn’t spur hiring managers to say “Let’s talk with this person” it’s really of little value. That’s a hard truth but one that needs to be confronted.

Furthermore, many folks aren’t really sure what they want in a job and/or career. They can, however, articulate quite well what they don’t want, but don’t know what organizations and positions to apply for; they feel stuck. That’s where an experienced career coach and job search pro comes in. He or she will provide a frank assessment of your skills, experience, education and training, and behavioral attributes and build your personal brand.

An effective career coach will “peel the onion” in a discovery session with a series of questions to help you identify what you most want out of your next job or career. Then they can effectively target the companies and roles that you would love to pursue with a targeted job campaign that includes interview prep and mock interviews to build your confidence.

My career coaching and job search clients report that the process I employed helped them land the job they wanted with a high Psychic Salary™ and the return on investment, an investment in themselves, was definitely worth it. Ready to get unstuck?

Take the first step to landing your dream job and schedule a no cost. No obligation call with me to see if we are a good fit. If not now, when?
